Short-Term Rentals Ordinance – August 10, 2020

Short-Term Rentals – August 10, 2020 Malibu City Council Public Hearing
Dear City of Malibu Residents:

Please take a moment to review the update from our City Council below and consider attending the meeting!

The Malibu City Council will hold a virtual public hearing to consider a short-term rental ordinance on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 6:30 PM. The agenda for the meeting is available on the City’s website.
On Monday, June 22, City Council directed staff to bring back an update of the interim short-term rental ordinance (Zoning Text Amendment No. 17-002) presented to Council on December 3, 2019. The proposed ordinance would put in place a short-term rental permitting system with regulations to address nuisance issues and impacts on neighborhoods and also attach penalties to violations. Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) No. 17-002, which was previously presented to the Planning Commission, is scheduled to be heard by the Council on August 10, 2020. The staff report including the proposed ordinance is available at: https://www.malibucity.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/4438?fileID=15873

The August 10, 2020 City Council Meeting will be a virtual meeting. Visit malibucity.org/virtualmeeting for details on how to participate and watch the meeting. Written comments may be submitted by emailing CityCouncil@malibucity.org.
